[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 07/2017 - USA - San Francisco California - San Francisco Bridge

Last July I went to San Francisco to attend a mini reunion of high school friends who now live in the US. Before the actual day for the reunion started, I went to visit the Alcatraz as they were not interested to visit this place but I actually loved it. Of the four days that we were there we almost didnt see the San Francisco Bridge because it was very foggy everytime we passed the place. On our last day in the afternoon on our way home we saw a glimpse of the bridge while waiting for our ride home. While they were queuing in the bus line I made a dash to a lookout and took pictures of the bridge. It was almost 5pm and the afternoon became very clear to get good pictures.

I felt relieved that I saw the bridge before I left the place. It would have been a bit disappointing not to see it as it was in my "to-see"  list including the Alcatraz and Muir Woods.

Handmade of the Day : Christmas Fabric Tree Charms and/or Ornaments

From fabric scraps grew a bunch of christmas trees standing on empty thread spools and/or a fabric tape for ease of hanging in your christmas trees. Without the trimming, they will make good christmas tree pillows. With button trimmings, they will make good desk decors at Christmas time or hang on christmas trees.
Unique keepsakes decorated with buttons expressing the occasion of being celebrated...Christmas!  If you want more decorations on your christmas tree or on top of your christmas mantles  or Use the fabric tree as a handbag charm or purse clip and/or handbag and backpack accessory during the Christmas period just like what I do with my bag below -
Great for someone who seems to have everything. check out these unique fabric trees. Click on the image above or on the link below and if there is anything you like, please make a purchase. Thank you.

Making A Difference : Dress A Girl Australia Christmas Cards

I know you can do a lot with digital cards. You can put sounds to it and make it more attractive and fun to read and/or to watch. But being me who loves handmades I still prefer the old and traditional cards to make my Christmas greeting more personal and special. And this is why I have this set of special Christmas cards made for my charity work. Proceeds from these cards I saved up and use to pay for the cost of sustaining my charity work which is self-funded. I use the funds to pay for the cost of distributing dresses to different locations for the new year which I believe there are disadvantaged kids who deserve to own a new dress. Please help me make a difference to the lives of these disadvantaged kids by purchasing any of these christmas cards to send to family and special people in your lives.
1) a fabric dress adhered to the card that represents what my charity work is all about
 2) a donation card for any charity organization on behalf of someone
3) a christmas message of happiness and hope to anyone in your list
 4) a christmas tree shaped by the words of Dress A Girl Australia's goal to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged kids.
Each card comes with a matching white envelope for easy gift giving. There is a blank inside panel for your personal message. Click on each of the images above for more details. You can buy a single card or in packs of 10 or in any number you want.

[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 11/2017 - Philippines - Vigan - I Love to Travel ... Vigan Phils

One of my favourites is travelling with family and/or friends and this is what I just did the past 10 days. I travelled with my best friend to Manila and visited the Unesco heritage site of Vigan Ilocos Sur. Vigan is a city in the Philippines on the west coast of the Luzon Island known for its preserved Spanish colonial and Asian architecture. The Calle Crisologo dominates the Mestizo district with its cobblestone streets, malecon, horse-drawn carriages and rustic mansions. Near the white baroque Vigan cathedral are the Plaza Salcedo offering fountain lights show at night and Plaza Burgos known for its food street stalls. We stayed there for 2 days and had a great time visiting the historic site including the preserved home of Juan Luna the painter and the Paoay Church which are all part of the heritage site. Here are some pictures I took -
Paoay Church

Calle Crisologo with its cobblestone streets, Paoay Church and the Crisologo Museum
Bantay Church Bell Tower
And this is where we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. It is a spanish style of airbnb and came with free breakfast. The price was very realistic but number of rooms were limited. It was located right in the centre of almost every place you needed to see and places to eat there was no need to get a ride. Walking was the best way to go.

To see larger and individual versions of the above images, please click here. Glad to share these pictures with you of which I had a great time taking them. If you want to know more about the place and how to get there, please feel free to contact me and I will do the best I can to help. I hope to share more of my past and future travels.

[Traveler's Journal] - Defining Images of the Day - 11/2017 - Sydney NSW - Cloudy Sunset

I love sunrises and sunsets. Even when am holidaying I always try to take a picture of a sunrise and/or a sunset of the place where am at. I took this picture of a cloudy sunset about three weeks ago after I came back from my daily walk. It rained earlier and rained again in the evening. In between I was able to go for my walk. 😊

[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 09/2005 - USA - Hawaii - "Pot of Gold" in the island of Maui

"Pot of gold". This is a picture I took on my way to the airport after a day's visit of the Maui Island in the state of Hawaii.
Also, one of my favourites in Maui. While walking around the city centre, I saw this giant banyan tree. The World famous Banyan Tree in the center of Lahaina which was brought to Maui from India when  the tree was just eight feet tall!! Look at it now. And it is not easy to photograph the entire tree! I tried my best and I love the result.

[Traveler's Journal] - Bushwalking and Hiking - 08/2017 - Australia - Sydney NSW - Hiking - Walk Path

Today was cloudy and a little bit windy, so it was just me and my 'birdy' friends. They seem to be so used to see me walking that they no longer fly away. LOL!

[Traveler's Journal] - Bushwalking and Hiking - 08/2017 - Australia - Sydney NSW - Hiking - Walk Path #1

Everyday I go for a walk for an hour and I have sort of established a 'walk path' in my routine. It takes me about 50-56 minutes to complete and I would say about 6kms long.
I stopped walking for about a month and now am back to my walking routine.
