[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 09/2005 - USA - Los Angeles California - Hollywood Walk of Fame

About six months ago my 20-year old laptop crashed and I was not able to recover some of my files which included some travel pictures. I was too confident that I would not lose any files as I was the only one using the laptop. I learned a very big lesson at the expense of some memory files lost. This led me to start thinking of what to do with my travel pictures. There was no way I would be able to print them and I preferred to maintain a digital copy. I have started a blog a few years back but was not really consistently updating it but this time I have decided to give it a go again, restart my journalling through my blog this way I will be able to sort and organize all my travel pictures, be able to create albums and save them in an online drive. So from now on or every now and then you will be seeing "flashback" articles and these are stories/pictures from my old travels as I try to remember them. 😉

For this article, I am sharing with you a few pictures I took of the Hollywood Walk of Fame when I visited Hollywood Blvd in 2005. These are the embedded stars in the sidewalk of Hollywood Blvd of some famous people such as Michael Jackson, Mickey Mouse and other old celebrities such as Humphrey Bogart (whose name I recognize from old movies) for their achievement in the entertainment business.

It is quite difficult to get a good shot of the stars because there are so many people walking and stopping but I have a few more pictures of other well-known celebrities in my album. You can click here to see them.

2018 calendar fabric panels

I thought I would make a handmade tote out of a 2018 fabric calendar so I ordered these two 2018 calendar designs from spoonflower. 

To use the full size of the calendar (about 68cms x 45cms) seems like too big for a handmade tote so am at a loss as to what to do. I do not want to cut the calendar in 2 as some of the months would be cut-off although I am sure I can come up with something pretty soon.

[Traveler's Journal] - Travel Quotes - To travel is to live

Happy New Year! Happy New Travels. I love to travel. I travel to live. After I finished my university studies with a major in Accounting and passed the Certified Public Accountancy test the only thing that came to mind was to travel. Travel and see the world. My Dad used to say to us that if you finish your education the world is at your feet and I think he was right. This poster below I truly believe describes me well.

When am not working I am travelling and after all those years and years of travelling I still think there is still a lot to see out there. Am not sure though why I never consistently found the time to share it...i probably could have earned money from it. 😊 Anyway, here I am about to restart a journal of all my past travels and hopefully new ones to come.

[Traveler's Journal] - Defining Images of the Day - 01/2018 - Sydney NSW - Sydney Fireworks New Year's Eve

It is hard not to take pictures when you have a camera with you all the time. All you have to do is click! 😀 Every year I take pictures of Sydney's fireworks to welcome the new year. I lost my collection when my laptop crashed about 6 months ago . These pictures were taken from last night's fireworks 2018. And they always are awesome and great to watch.

[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 07/2017 - USA - San Francisco California - San Francisco Bridge

Last July I went to San Francisco to attend a mini reunion of high school friends who now live in the US. Before the actual day for the reunion started, I went to visit the Alcatraz as they were not interested to visit this place but I actually loved it. Of the four days that we were there we almost didnt see the San Francisco Bridge because it was very foggy everytime we passed the place. On our last day in the afternoon on our way home we saw a glimpse of the bridge while waiting for our ride home. While they were queuing in the bus line I made a dash to a lookout and took pictures of the bridge. It was almost 5pm and the afternoon became very clear to get good pictures.

I felt relieved that I saw the bridge before I left the place. It would have been a bit disappointing not to see it as it was in my "to-see"  list including the Alcatraz and Muir Woods.
