[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 09/2001 - Hongkong - Hongkong from Victoria Peak

This is a view of Hongkong from the Victoria Peak. When the weather is clear, you get a very clear view of Hongkong. At night, when the lights are everywhere, this view looks like a postcard. The first picture was taken earlier where it was still a bit foggy.

thought i had a good shot until i saw the pair of rubber shoes. Got off the wrong bus stop and after half-an-hour of walking finally made it on the iconic  black and white imagine mosaic at central park west. a powerful imagine mosaic that promotes a vision and hope for world peace.

[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 09/1996 - Canada - Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada

One of my picture frames fell tonight and it turned out that the picture on the frame was of the Niagara Falls in Ontario Canada which I visited with my brother in 1996. The Horseshoe Falls is the largest falls of three which forms Niagara Falls on the Niagara River along the Canada-US Border. 

I hope to go back one day and experience the Journey Behind the Falls where you can see the falls from below and behind the tunnels and observation decks. My brother went back last year and did the journey behind the falls and if am not mistaken did the boat ride.

[Traveler's Journal] - Jan 2018 - Australia - Blue Mountains NSW - A Day trip to the Blue Mountains - Govetts Leap Lookout Blue Mountains National Park

On the same day trip to the Blue Mountains we went to the Govetts Leap Lookout which was our third and last lookout for the day after having lunch in the park.

And there was another lookout right next to it which did not take long to walk to. The George Phillips lookout of the Fairfax Heritage. It gives you a view of the scenic Grose Valley in Blue Mountains National Park.

[Traveler's Journal] - Jan 2018 - Australia - Blue Mountains NSW - A Day trip to the Blue Mountains - Gordon Falls Lookout Blue Mountains National Park

Before you could get to this lookout, you need to go down and up to return a flight of steps. In total for the return walking trip it was the equivalent of about 39 stories of a building. Once you get to the lookout, you are greeted with a magnificent view of the Blue Mountains especially in a very good weather. These water cascades you will see on your way to the lookout.

Once you reach the lookout, gaze across to the impressive views of Mount Solitary and Kings Tableland.

Also from the lookout on your right, you will see the waterfall that plunges over a 200m drop.

[Traveler's Journal] - Jan 2018 - Australia - Blue Mountains NSW - A Day trip to the Blue Mountains - Three Sisters in Katoomba

After watching the musical 'Beautiful' on the night of Australia Day, (see my souvenir below which they gave away after the show)

we drove to the Blue Mountains the following day. We did three lookouts that day and the first lookout we did was the Echo Point Lookout to get a view of the Three Sisters in Katoomba. The view of the three sisters when we arrived was not at its best as it was quite foggy. 

If the morning was not that foggy, the three sisters would have looked like this. I took this picture about 18 months ago and we arrived at the three sisters almost the same time as we arrived last Saturday. See the difference?

We walked down to the Grand stairway entrance and the view wasnt that bad. I have done the Grand Stairway before from the bottom to the top when we did the Scenic World Circuit bushwalking so I did not go down to the Honeymoon Bridge anymore. Since we left home at 7am we decided to have something to eat first before proceeding to other lookouts. And yes the mountains improved quite a bit after about half-an-hour later

but the Three Sisters was still covered with fog.
