[Traveler's Journal] - Bushwalking and Hiking - 03/2014 - Australia - Sydney NSW - Royal National Park - Karloo Track

This was the Karloo track in the Royal National Park - 2-Mar - 2014. A total of about 4 hours of walking uphill and downhill . After 1-1/2 hours, we ended up in the Karloo Pool. This area actually gets filled with water and not passable when it is high tide season so a bit scary to be lost in the area. Maybe for some it would take them less than 4 hours but for us who were a bit slow it took longer but the scenic view along the way was unbelievably beautiful.

This was our very first bushwalking practice in late February. A regular 3 hour walk just to start us to get to used to rugged paths, going uphill and downhill. This was at the Bungoona Trail, Royal National Park. Some pictures were taken from the Bungoona lookouts.

I always wanted to see Machu Picchu and it was on this month of January 2014 that we decided that we were going to do the Inca Trek....but first we must go to Cusco Peru to achieve this. :-)

[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 01/2014 - Australia - Victoria - Federation Square Melbourne

I flew to Melbourne with friends one Saturday to watch the "King kong" musical since it will not be shown in Sydney and it was closing down in Melbourne. We arrived around 11am and was too early for the show so we instead walked around the city. This is the corner we ended up in while taking our  waiting for 2pm. Corner of Flinders Street and Swanston St.  Am standing taking this picture from the entrance of the St Paul's Cathedral. The theatre is 2 blocks away on the right. I think to the left are for those who wanted to watch Australian open (there was a sign for pedestrians). Good time to be walking around 22 degrees and windy.

[Traveler's Journal] - Flashback - 01/2014 - Australia - Victoria - Yarn Bombing at Federation Square Melbourne

My friends and I went to Melbourne one Saturday to watch the KingKong musical at a theatre near the Federation Square. There was yarn bombing exhibit going on at the square so we decided to check it out while waiting for the theatre to open. Yarn Bombing is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk. It was the first time I saw this type of exhibit and I was amazed by the work of art made and wrapped around the trees in the square.

Maybe I should do one in my frontyard in the future. 😄

Lavender Angel of Heart

One of the items I made out of my fabric scraps is this Lavender Angel of Heart - 'the key to my heart'. I still am undecided on whether to use a wooden ball for the head but this is basically it and I will be making more of this to sell. I already have the lavender house and now I have the angel of heart.

The angel of heart measures about 16cms x 20.5cms. I placed a thin wadding(the ones I normally used in my fabric postcards) and also I placed a small georgette bag inside with a 20ml of lavender. And the highlight of this handmade heart is the key which you find at the center of the heart. This is a rusted garden key measuring about 6cms and inside a pocket measuring about 4.5cms x 7.5cms sealed by a craft plastic.

So if the lavender house which I released late last year was not your type, perhaps this lavender angel of heart would be? A great way to celebrate the month of love with someone you love.
